Karishma Shahani Khan; alumnus of the London College of Fashion and Founder of clothing label Ka-Sha. traces a discipline in her work, deeply rooted in mindful practices, as part of an effort to create clothing both focused on functionality and that acts as an embodiment of our multi-layered roles in life.
Ka-Sha is focused on the implementation of a fair means of trade and the creation of artisanal crafts. Composing a seasonal exploration of the relationship between clothing and the self.
As a brand, Ka-Sha imbues its values even further into its homegrown label, Heart to Haat, which was charted with an ideology of reuse, re-purpose and light autarky.
Karishma is a recipient of various design honours and often involves herself in a varied set of designed-focused educational institutions.
Co-founder of ‘Together - Ek Saath Collective’, her latest projects include, Loom & Hand, a web-shop of ethically sourced hand-woven textiles from India, and Banaae, a production and sampling service to empower makers and designers.
