Juhi Pandey, is an Indian Born Designer, Artist, educator. As well as the Director for Khamir Craft Resource Center, Hatheli Sansthan and Technical Head for Nila House Jaipur
Juhi has worked with over a 1000 traditional artisans across the country, in the aim of facilitating the construction of a stronger shared identity and ownership through the development of local economic communities.
With an anthropocentric process-based approach, she has studied, learned and worked with varied communities.
Having had a career spanning across two decades, starting off as the first ever designer to be hired by Century Textiles and Industries Pvt Ltd, she then went on to work in the high-street fashion industry.
After 8 years of being within the epicentre of the mainstream industrial sector, she then switched to the education and crafts sector as a facilitator, innovator and academic.
Aiding in the creation of Tara Trust Goa, a children’s and women’s organisation aimed at educating and empowering the marginalised through art and design interventions.
Currently she acts as the head in the Centre of Excellence for Khadi in Shillong, working closely in the development of wild eri silk within the region, for it to then be handspun and handwoven with some of the oldest Khadi institutions of the region.
As regular visiting faculty for NID-Ahmedabad, NIFT institutions and other design institutions of India. She majors in the areas of Design Thinking & Processes, Social Design and Sustainable & Equitable Development Processes through Design.
