Founded by Ramon Cobo Zarco in 2021, Wooldreamers is a family project focused on the production, treatment and finishing of wool wholly within its native Castilla La Mancha.
Wooldreamers seeks to renovate and return the socioeconomic value that spanish wool once relished in.
The Kingdom of Spain, despite having allowed wool production to fall to the wayside and flee south east, remains, within the European Union, its foremost producer. However, despite being a biodegradable, recyclable, locally produced and culturally significant material, its reach within the fashion industry only extends to 2-3% of the fibre usage within the nation.
Therein lie the motivating fact for this project. In its recently started journey Wooldreamers has already contacted and partnered with 30 different local producers for the sake of revalorizing their work, giving name and recognition to over 20 autochthonous breeds of sheep across the globe, most of them already well within their slow crawl towards extinction.
In addition to this comes ‘Wool4life’ a line dedicated to the completion of finished works and products that double as promotions of the many uses for wool in addition to their own merits as works themselves. Its first product Julián Named after Ramon’s Grandfather and done in collaboration with TEIXIDORS, shows 25 limited edition and singular pieces made with their family’s history in mind.
