Rosario Mora and Macarena Sanz
Rosario Mora and Macarena Sanz, master artisans of gold embroidery, have been in the trade for more than 25 years. Both come from the world of textile manufacturing where they had worked as dressmakers. In 1997, together with two other partners, they founded the Bordados San Julián in the city of Cuenca.
Throughout these years they have made a wide variety of embroideries, mainly ecclesiastical, all of them following exclusive designs made by Macarena (designer of the workshop). Banners, scripts, mantles, confectioners, flags, skirts, tunics, chasubles, etc. They have come from her experienced hands in combining gold or silver threads with the different stitches and resources that this type of embroidery offers. From start to finish, each of these pieces is made entirely by hand, from the design to the placement of the linings and trimmings.
