Carolina Saloma was born in Colombia and currently lives in Buenos Aires. She trained in Barcelona with the artist Teresa Rosa Aguayo,.

Carolina is a textile artist with a vocation for reclaiming ancestral crafts in contemporary textiles.   The loom, felt, sashiko, hand weaving and other techniques have been her

means of expression along the way.  The fibers are the link between nature and the

history of the earth, honoring the lesser known fibers such as Argentine wild silk.

The lighting in her pieces give a poetic place to the fibers, where they acquire a luminous

character and a link between the ancestral and the contemporary, a metaphor like making friends with our lights and shadows.
