“Emma Pucci is a French-Swiss architect and anthropologist who worked for many years in the film industry as a Production Designer. Her passion for bespoke textiles and unique artistry transpired when she lived in India, a country where craftsmanship has a whole different meaning. Her professional trail led her to Valentina, with whom she founded Flores Textile Studio in 2019.
Valentina Pilia is an Italian-born interior designer who studied in Paris and moved to Morocco after her Master's in Artistic Direction, where she fell even more in love with unique textiles and handwoven fabrics. She moved back to Paris to join Pierre Yovanovitch's studio as a senior decorator for five years, before choosing Lisbon as her present home -- where she created Flores Textile Studio with Emma, in 2019.
Taking their interior design and textile project a step further entailed a place where they could receive clients and showcase the products they had sourced and their collections. It was crucial they had a space where they could also dole out their own taste, and the atmosphere they wanted to create in their interior design projects.
In addition to the studio where they carry out their interior design projects, Flores Textile Studio became a textile showroom with handmade goods produced by craftsmen who use local materials and follow ancient processes to create long-lasting objects for today's interiors -- thus preserving techniques and ways of life that are increasingly threatened by globalisation.”
