Emma Cassi - FRANCE
Originally from rural Burgundy, France, Emma Cassi was raised in a creative, multi-skilled family whose talents ranged from gardening to knitting. Her childhood was marked by family gatherings at her grandfather’s sawmill—a unique setting filled with freshly cut pine planks and rusting cars—that nurtured her eclectic spirit and love for craftsmanship and storytelling.
Emma’s perspective shifted during an art project in Aubrac, where she discovered a passion for capturing the beauty of landscapes and the resilience of communities preserving endangered traditions. This newfound passion led her to study landscape drawing and garden art at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon.
Her journey into textiles began with an early fascination for embroidery. As a self-taught artist, she quickly developed a distinctive jewellery brand that combined vintage lace, beads, and sequins into a signature style. Emma moved to London and embarked on a career as a stylist and jewellery designer, collaborating with esteemed brands such as Designers Guild, Cath Kidston, and Anthropologie, among others.
Following an injury from years of intricate embroidery, Emma expanded her creative repertoire by earning a degree in massage therapy. Delving into herbalism, olfactotherapy, and natural dyeing using plant infusions, her work reflects a deep, evolving connection with nature. Today, influenced by visionary thinkers and indigenous wisdom, Emma continues to explore innovative expressions that harmonize traditional craft with ecological sensitivity.
