Danae Grim - GREECE

“Danae Grimopoulou is a Greek fashion designer who divides her time between Greece and Southern France. Born and raised in Athens, she studied fashion design at Polimoda in Florence and gained experience working with emerging brands across Europe, the UK, and Africa.

Her passion for textiles and craftsmanship is deeply influenced by her family’s diverse history. Her grandfather owned a shop specializing in athletic wear and textile trade in Ivory Coast, while stories of her mother’s upbringing in Bouaké connected her to the land and nature. On her father’s side, she cherishes memories of her grandmother’s delicate hemstitching and tales of Athenian life in the 1960s—both of which helped shape her contemporary romantic aesthetic.

In 2024, she officially launched Begrims with the collection Homecoming, honoring her roots and the fading textile heritage of Greece. Produced in small batches in the Cyclades, Begrims collaborates with skilled women artisans to sustain and celebrate traditional craftsmanship. Danae’s work is a testament to slow fashion and mindful design, driven by a desire to preserve cultural traditions—bridging past and present through storytelling and textile artistry.”
