“My name is Katerine Gutierrez, designer of Traces and founder of Traces of the World.

Born in the Netherlands to Spanish and Cuban descent, I grew up surrounded and influenced by various cultures that enriched my childhood with traditions and emotions, shaping a unique worldview and identity that form the essence of my creative process.

I began my training as a fashion designer at Charles Montaigne in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Professionally, I developed in the heart of fashion, Paris, where I worked for many years as a fashion stylist for UNIT, CMA, creating advertising campaigns, editorials, and freelance projects.

It wasn’t long before I discovered that my true love and passion lay in artisanal work, natural textiles, and the vibrant colors of indigenous cultures. This realization marked the beginning of my journey to uncover the traces that now define Traces.

The brand started to take shape in Mexico, where close collaboration with artisans, their ancestral techniques, and organic, natural materials merged with contemporary design.

Traces’ mission is to weave a new future in collaboration with other brands that offer artisanal pieces, challenge their own limits, and embrace the richness of cultures and processes in harmony with humanity and nature.”
