“Namza, founded in 2026, is a Ladakhi Indian brand that celebrates and revives the traditional arts, crafts, and textiles of the region. Awarded by the President of India, Namza takes immense pride in Ladakh's rich cultural heritage, which was shaped by centuries of trade along the Silk Route. This crossroads of civilizations left a lasting impact on Ladakhi culture, blending influences from Central Asia, Tibet, and beyond.

At Namza, we work with the world's most luxurious fabrics, starting with Ladakhi Pashmina (also known as Cashmere), renowned for its fine quality. Due to Ladakh’s high altitude, the region produces some of the finest micron-sized Pashmina fibers, which are considered the best in the world. Our passion for Ladakhi textiles extends to the ancient tradition of silk weaving. We embrace the intricate history of brocade, woven with gold and silver threads and adorned with peacock feather motifs.

This technique, originally imported from China, has now been revived by artisans in Banaras (Varanasi), who have inherited the craft from Tibetan weavers after the Silk Route ended.

At Namza, we collaborate with skilled artisans from Ladakh and Benaras to create collections that reflect our philosophy: Fashion is slow ,fashion is art, and fashion is about honoring your community. We produce only one collection each year, emphasizing quality, sustainability, and ethical practices.

Through our work, we aim to not only showcase the beauty of Ladakhi craftsmanship but also to tell the stories of the region’s rich cultural legacy stories of ancient trade, of silk and pashmina, and of the skilled hands that continue these traditions today.”
