Mila Bentín-SPAIN
Milagros is an artist graduated from the Corriente Alterna School of Visual Arts. Through the investigation of the abstract in pre-Columbian cultures, she proposes her own language which looks at our past to bring it to this time and understand it from a contemporary perspective.
Milagros Bentín works with geometric abstraction using the line, creating chiaroscuro compositions. The materials used are organic: linen as a support and cotton as a stroke.
She has a special interest in process, which turns out to be a meditative practice in itself. It is this quality that transports the viewer to a superior experience that, from the outside, can be confused with an ingenious, mathematical game, without intending to be so. It is between those delicate fibers through which a gaze that seeks the truth is filtered in a space of intimacy.
