Una Rozentāle - LATVIA
Her weaving journey started as a hobby but it quickly became her passion and now she has a small weaving studio. At the beginning there were a lot of experiments with materials and techniques, but in last few years, she has focused on woolen shoulder shawls and Latvian folk skirts.
Shawls are traditional part of Latvian folk costume, but at the same time they are perfect for everyday modern life. For Latvians, these authentic wool scarves are timeless heirlooms.
Her pieces are woven from pure wool yarn from a small wool factory nearby that exists since the 19th century. The yarn is not washed with strong chemicals that “eat” out dirt and plant particles from unwashed wool. So it may happen that in your shawl there will still be some pieces from Latvia meadows!
