Kinga Földi - HUNGARY

“Kinga Földi is a Budapest-based textile sculptor whose artistic journey began with collecting and assembling fabric scraps into sculptural forms. This practice led her to study at the prestigious Moholy-Nagy University, where she mastered techniques such as bobbin lace-making, origami, and surface manipulation—skills that would shape her unique approach to textile art.

After graduating, Földi explored fashion and jewelry design, creating wearable sculptures in silk. Later, feeling creatively constrained by the industry, she transitioned fully into sculpture, refining her distinctive pin-tuck technique. Originally a tailoring method for blouses, pin-tucks became the structural foundation of her work, evoking organic textures reminiscent of flora and fauna. Her large-scale silk compositions, often assembled from layered strips, offer a tactile experience that bridges craftsmanship and contemporary art.

Földi’s sculptures have been exhibited in Hungary and Italy and featured in international magazines. Through her art, she seeks to celebrate nature’s overlooked beauty in the digital age, offering viewers a sensory encounter with silk’s delicate softness.”
