Tatiana Sarasa
OPEN STUDIO 79 is a textile studio and showroom, located in Palma’s lively neighborhood of Santa Catalina, run by the visual artist Tatiana Sarasa.
A fluctuating space, where Tatiana works with natural dyes, hand spun fibers and woven textiles, but where other creatives from far and close are welcome to share values and knowledge through workshops or start conversations about sustainable materials and practices in our world.
Preserving artisanal techniques and the use of humble tools operated by hand is not only seen to her as an important part of our heritage, but also as a way to bond to our land, traditions and people. She understands the slow process of hand dyeing, spinning or weaving as metaphor of time and important counterbalance to our accelerated technological lives, teaching us to find our way back to the pace of nature, to ourselves.
