They say the way to one´s heart is through the belly and it couldn’t be more so in Mallorca as the mediterranean´s relationship with food plays a large part in defining family roles, rules, and traditions.

Food in most cultures is not merely a way to nourish your body but what we eat, how we cook and who we share our meals with gives us a much deeper understanding of the local culture and can even unravel its history and heritage.

“Let us honor our relationship with the earth through the food we eat. Let us be aware of its origin, let us cultivate the food culture of a territory and its traditional knowledge. Let us respect the ancient landscapes of local commensality. Let's sit down to share and enjoy".

This experience starts at Mercado el Olivar, a traditional Mediterranean market, and follows Deborah Piña, a majorcan with a french mother who has researched in depth the ethnographic and emotional component of the Mediterranean table. Her personal and professional purpose is to create unique experiences and activities, conveyed through food and traditions with the purpose of connecting with our culinary heritage and, above all, enjoying it.

We will be guided by her through her favorite stops and secrets: the best bread in town, the must have olive oil, and the very Mallorcan “tap de corti” made from peppers from the Island, among other delicasies that only a sybarite like her would know where to get. Deborah´s atelier is an old bakery from the XVIII called Forn de la Llotgeta, a place full of character in the Center of Palma.

Once there, the group will stand around the table where tasks will be assigned as Deborah explains each preparation, its heritage, evolution and steps to make it. This will happen around a tasting appetizer of Mallorcan delicacies and wines. Then the group will enjoy a delicious 3 course lunch.
