EVERY FIBRE OF YOUR BEING
We cannot effectively understand, change or tinker with a system to improve it if we dont go back to its first principles. Fibre is cloth ́s most granular unit, the smallest form of self we call itself. To feel something deeply is to feel it through every fibre of your being.
3 days full of workshops, talks, debates and round table discussions led by celebrated maestros and maestras from the world of heritage textile craft, diversity of Fibers, indigenous knowledge, new materials, regenerative agriculture and experts from the tech world working on the future (ethics, AI, Machine Learning).
It is urgent that these worlds, the past and the future, be brought together at this very pivotal moment to dialogue with each other and together build a new narrative that is informed by ancestral knowledge and powered by exciting new technology.
We need to calibrate our compass before we turbo boost
into the future!
These 3 days are meant to incite, inspire and elate with hope and purpose.

Why now ?
Our industry has just woken unto its huge environmental and social impact and most individuals, companies and projects are still struggling with trying to make sense of this new paradigm where the rules of business have not changed much but customers expect more and we want to make the right choices.
Every other day there is a new innovation being heralded as THE sustainable answer to our hard questions. It is urgent that we do a deep dive into the actual source, learn and share with each other to ensure we are not unknowing falling victim to Greenwashing.
Here at XTANT, on popular demand from our community, we have put together this 3 day intensive program on diverse fibres to help shed light on real choices and exciting projects that are working on the ground from around the globe.
You do not need a degree in Design or Textiles to attend this program. Just a curiosity about textiles and a passion for building a sustainable future together are enough .

Why us ?
At XTANT we have built a community of humans passionate about heritage craft. Most of us have spent out lives working in the industry trying to make change happen and have realised that we need to build a new Paradigm urgently. Not wait for change to come from above but to work from the grassroots up. For this we need to create a space of honest generous exchange that nurtures everyone in it and is based on the values of collaboration not competition.
The indigenous communities have a lot to teach us and it is time we let them speak and lead the way. Help empower their voices , decolonize the narrative and support their craft.
First educate ourselves and in the process help design a much needed new regenerative system.
Now more than ever we must abandon the performative and embrace the authentic. This shift requires humility and patience with a focus on internal change. Let this experience change your pace, the way you think and how you see the world. Because the world is our work.
